| Jian Zhen (688A.D.-763A.D.), born in Yangzhou, was a prestigious monk in Tang Dynasty.In 748 AD, Jian Zhen and his followers were hit by a hurricane as they made the fifth voyage across the sea to Japan, and then drifted to the Major and Minor Grotto Heaven in Sanya and landed here. It was in here that he constructed the Dayun Temple to spread the Buddhism culture. |
