Lingying Spring • Prayer Stone
Ming Dynasty county Pei Chongli, in the Tour of the Dongtian Park Days, recorded that: out of the Dongtian Park door before the straight pavilion seashore, there is a huge stone such as a boat. There is a cave under the stone, out of the spring light, engraved with "Lingying Spring". According to the ancient reminders, the water from the Nine Dragons is from the spring above the Ao Shan, gathered together to form the "Lingying Spring".
Mao Kui of the Southern Song Dynasty wrote in his poem Small Dongtian Park: "When I have little business to do, I can visit the spring in the forest. Don't underestimate this "Lingying Spring" monument, because the spring water is very peculiar; when the tide is high, it is salt water, and when the tide is low, it is fresh water. Legend says that when Jianzhen drifted ashore, he drank the spring water here to quench his thirst. This pool has dried up due to age, but it is still a historical monument. Legend says that Master Jianzhen lived in Yazhou for more than a year in the South Mountain, preaching and teaching the people. Yazhou people heard that Master Jianzhen had medical skills and were often looking for Master Jianzhen medical treatment. Master Jianzhen often took the foot of the South Mountain this spring, letting the villagers and the medicine at the same time take it. The people soon recovered from the disease and were therefore named "Lingying Spring".
Beside the Lingying Spring, there is a large stone that looks like a fist, which is called the "Prayer Stone", as if praying to the sky.
