The ageless pine of Nanshan

The scientific name is Dracaena, belonging to the Agavaceae family. Its resin can be used as medicine, with the effects of stopping bleeding and nourishing qi. It has been around since the Cretaceous period, when dinosaurs roamed the earth, and is known as a living fossil among plants. It is a nationally protected tree species under second-level protection. Within the scenic area, there stands a tree that has been listed as one of the "Guinness World Records" for having the "largest canopy," with a tree age of over 5,600 years

As the allusion goes, "May your fortune be as boundless as the East China Sea and your longevity as enduring as the Nanshan Mountain's evergreen pine." The evergreen pine referred to here is the Dracaena, which is extremely rare due to its slow growth rate. It takes hundreds of years to grow into a tree and only blooms once every few decades.
